2016

In 2016 water-coolant air-conditioning systems were installed at the six Blue Hand pre-school centres located on Capespan Farms and which provides child-care services in the Northern Cape.

A Food Tunnels project on Capespan Northern Cape farms, located at Oorkant, Noudonsies, Vrede,  Zeekoesteek and Arensnes farms was started, also with partnership funding provided by the Waitrose Foundation.

Farm workers work these tunnels as part of their daily work activities, but on a voluntary basis and both permanent and seasonal workers benefit from sharing in the vegetables harvested during the table grape season.

We supplemented our involvement with Grabouw High School with a skills development programme for all 36 Grade 12 learners.
