Revving up stone offering ( Friday 15 January 2010 )  Despite challenges created by the global economic slowdown, Capespan Exports' focus on developing new stone fruit cultivars is set to help keep demand high in traditional markets.
Looking Peachy ( Friday 06 November 2009 )  Western Cape weather has been conducive to excellent peach and nectarine development. Capespan Exports stone fruit technical manager Michiel Bester thought the general condition of peach and nectarine orchards looked extremely healthy with much lower levels of curly leaf observed than last year. He anticipated a good crop.
Cold fact ( Friday 30 October 2009 )  From 2008 until 2009 Capespan has reduced the number of days fruit is stored in cold rooms. Cold chain manager Keith Roxburgh said last year South African citrus destined for the UK spent an average of 9,5 days in cold storage until week 33, compared to 6 days this year for the same period. "That's a 36% drop! But, we're trying to lower the number of days even further."

100 containers a first for Capespan Exports ( Thursday 30 July 2009 )  As a first, Capespan Exports shipped more than 100 containers with a single service provider both in week 27 and 28. In week 27, the company shipped 105 containers on the MSC Barbara and 150containers in week 28 on the MSC Laura.
New Lease ( Friday 19 June 2009 )  After the department of land affairs obtained the Rooigras Farm in Komatipoort through a land claim acquisition, Capespan obtained a five-year lease contract on the property including the current crop through the mediation of previous owner Jimmy Tecklenburg.
